I want to share my feedback regarding your support during my breastfeeding journey. First of all i want to mention my previous breastfeeding experience with my firstborn; i was lost, had no knowledge of how breastfeeding works, had too much pain while feeding, didnt know about cluster feeding n how to manage it etc and so i introduced formula soon. I was still combo feeding, struggling with keeping my supply up, going through instagram and google for answers and thats how i found your page! I learnt alot from your posts alone bt i was already 5 months pp, with a tanked supply, an upcoming exam and resuming work, i couldnt go with relactation so didnt seek help. But i promised myself next time im going to be well informed and seek professional guidance in time. So this time around when i was 6 months pregnant i took the prenatal course, so so happy i did that, it was so helpful and enlightening and it made me mentally ready to tackle breastfeeding this time. Fakeha was so supportive during this whole journey. When i gave birth via Caesarean, i started hand expression as soon as i could as taught by Fakeha and i had milk coming on day 1. I managed to collect colostrum during my stay at hospital by hand expression and using a hand pump. I contacted Fakeha and fed my baby as per her guidance (frequency of feeds, hand expression, diaper output, waking a sleepy baby). I was so much in pain post Caesarean bt my confidence in breastfeeding and fakehas support didn’t make me give up and by being consistent in the initial few days my milk supply got so up i could feed my baby without needing to supplement. Later on i developed an oversupply which was also managed with Fakehas help. Im 6 weeks post partum now, exclusively breastfeeding and so grateful for such support to exist. What im loving most is the peace of mind, knowing the science behind my choices and giving the best nutrition to my baby. In ur early postpartum ur v easily discouraged by everyone around u saying ur feed isnt enough, give formula, baby is gassy bcz of ur milk etc n u tend to give up soon bt proper lactation support is ur only way. And even tho the main issue i had was anatomical, it's because of your guidance that i am still able to exclusively breastfeed and raise a very healthy baby girl Masha Allah.
I also wanted to say that I'm so glad your course included guidance on hand expression. When my baby was put on my chest, the nurse did the typical nipple pinching test and told me i had no supply. Luckily i was able to hand express to show that that's not the case. She was very surprised by this, but it's unfortunate most nurses sent to do this task dont know basic hand expression.
When my baby got her first growth spurt, i had forgotten a few things from the course, so i thought my supply was low (because baby was cluster feeding). I'm glad revisited the notes i took, because now my baby breastfeeds exclusively, and i am even able to pump extra for her (just in case).

Discovering Fakeha from my CBE support group was Allah's mercy on me. I had a hard time with my firstborn due to several reasons contributing to no latch, pumping trauma, eventual reliance on formula and thus an end to my much intended breastfeeding journey. I still have a painful latch mostly due to his tongue tie, but my child and I have Alhamdulillah fallen into the learned rhythm of feeding well so adequate milk transfer happens despite his restricted tongue movement. He is 3 mo now MashaAllah and gaining weight steadily. The amazing support and confidence Fakeha gave me when I was on the verge of giving up due to extreme pain because of his poor latch in the first 3 weeks....can not thank her enough for her kind words and informed advices. Not all lactation professionals are so well trained and informed. The first LC I went to for latch help on 3rd day of my baby's life struggled to latch him onto my one engorged breast and told me I'll have to pump and feed from that side and direct nurse from the other side. Cried to Fakeha about her advice and my feelings of hopelessness and she told me to deal with the engorgement first and guided me with the correct protocol on how to latch him on that engorged breast and it worked!! Still feel shivers thinking if I had given up on that 3rd day listening to that so called lactation consultant I'd have ended up with much more problems than before. When i was in my last trimester with my second baby, Fakeha opened registrations for her signature prenatal feeding course. Despite being a doctor, I enrolled and it was THE BEST DECISION i have ever taken. I was surprised how we are not taught all of this in our medical studies. The way she explained everything, the way the course was thoroughly organised was commendable. i loved the fact that she catered all out QnAs in out live sessions alongside the recorded lectures. I was told by the staff the day i delivered that you wont be having any milk till three days postpartum but it was through this course that i was informed enough to cancel all that noise and continue my breast feeding journey immediately Alhumdullilah. One thing I would encourage is that if only one video consultation alongside the whatsapp support could be provided to the super star participants in order to check the latch and make sure the mama is doing it okay. Just to boost her confidence
